Assos FI Melli Question

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Assos FI Melli Question

I just got back into biking a few months ago. I bought a pair of Pearl Izumi Microsensor shorts on the advise from the LBS. I recently bought a pair of Voler Team Shorts on sale with their Cantara pad. Much improved comfort. Smoother ride less shock to my sit bones and better feeling of connection to the saddle. Way cool.
So having read rave reviews and wanting too improve on an already good thing I decided to try a pair of Assos FI Mille shorts. The pad is even better but the material that extends beyound the pad in front is a fleece like material which is chaffing on the main man. Voler uses a soft white material in this area and you never notice it is there. Just as it shoud be.
Has anyone else had this problem with the Assos Fi Mille?? Is there a solution? I really like the Assos pad alot and can understand why, void the problem I am having, people rave about the comfort. HELP!!

Did you try the ASSOS creme along with the shorts? It may help. Tingles also. (a good tingle)

I never had this problem with mine. The pair that I have are actually the only ones that don't make me numb. I have tried a few of the different Pearl shorts, but they were usually uncomfortable. I also tried the Assos Uno shorts, and they really sucked. The Mille seems to be a good pair though. Try Univega's solution. I also use the cream. Maybe that has something to do with it.

Can't really help you; I have the same shorts and don't have the problem. Not my fave chamois, but thats because I find it just a little thick for my tastes, but not in the front. Best made shorts I have, though.

Maybe fit/saddle position are contributing to the problem?
