Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Sigma Sport PC 14 HRM

I recently got a Sigma Sport PC 14 HRM from Performance to replace a piece of crap Sette from Pricepoint (don't get me started on that), and it's giving me problems.

Does the signal seem prone to interference to anyone else? I have a Cateye Double Wireless computer with cadence and it seems to be messing with the signal. On my last ride the HRM was stuck on 140-something for the whole ride. If I even get near my laptop the signal goes to 0.

I'm going to reset the signal number on my Cateye and see if that works for today's ride.

I got a SigmaSport HRM (don't recall which model - it was ~ $40) from NashBar last April. It worked fine for a month, and then crapped out despite replacing battery. I sent it back and got a replacement which never worked at all -- period. Sent it back again, and this one's been working fine.

I have a wired Astrale-8 computer, so interference had nothing to do with it. I emailed SigmaSport after the second one, thinking that I must have done something wrong or there was a secret setting, but they just said to send it back. I never did find out what the problem was, but you would think with a reject rate like this that it would be hard for them to make any money...
