Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Need Help With Selling on Ebay.

How does the whole shipping deal work when you sell on ebay and do you have to pay anything to the company. And How do i get the money. I know it says some of these things on the website, but it's hard to understand there. If anyone has experience with this can you please run me through the process.

Thanks For The Help.

If you are selling an item, you can either charge a flat shipping amount of your choosing, or use the shipping calculator that ebay provides. It is one of the steps during the listing process, and is easy to do. As far as how you get the money, it is up to you. If you have a paypal account, you can receive money through it (though paypal charges you a fee). If you don't have paypal, you can choose from other methods, like money orders, cashier's checks, personal checks, money transfer, or cash. The buyer sends the payment to you, you send the item to them. Simple.

I bought an Ebay for Dummies book and it was very good. Lots to learn and it's hard to learn it on the Ebay site.

If you are asking about ebay charges, click here. Paypal also charges a fee for receiving payments.

Don't be intimidated by the Ebay site. If you are going to sell there you are going to need to invest some time reading and studying. Go to Seller Central and ask questions if you have any. You can't have A.D.D. and sell on ebay.

people like paypal because it is fast...instant fast. you can see the money in your account and send off the item.

the smart thing to do about shipping is to print the address from the verfied address from the email from paypal or email from the buyer and tape it to the package. that way there is no way you can mess up the address.

depending on size of package, there are many ways to ship economically. usps is good for small packages and you could have tracking with delivery confirmation, medium size packages, go with ups, frames and bikes go with fedx ground.
