Quick Question about upgrading/swapping

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Bikes: 2005 Giant TCR Composite

Hey guys,I've been riding for about a year and love the sport, however I need some advice. I've been shopping around recently after getting hit on my last bike and having the frame, shifters, and pedal ruined from the impact and slide, and I've come across an awesome deal on a Giant TCR C3. Now, the bike is 105 equipped and a double. My Scattante was full Ultegra, but a triple; with the exception of the shifters, the components are unscathed. My question is, if I replace the Ultegra shifters, can I have the 105 bike swapped out for my Ultegra stuff? I'm unsure about the swap regarding the double and triple chainrings; and I don't mind the keeping a triple set-up since I may be seeing more hills now. I've got this Ultegra stuff in my garage, and I'd hate to see it go to waste, and I'd prefer the nice parts on the bike. Thanks in advance for your help.

Nate

1. 9 speed cassettes, chains, and rear shifters are not compatible with 10 speed
2. double and triple use different front derailleurs and sometimes different shifters (depends on year and model)
3. double and triple also use different cranksets and different bottom brackets
4. seat post clamp styles/sizes can vary from bike to bike
5. otherwise, Ultegra is generally compatible with 105
