Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

During the fit they may have asked if he wanted to purchase a zero offset or that it could be an option for him to get down the road. Maybe it was recommended but he may not want to spend the money on one right now. It doesnt look THAT bad. Its not all the way forward and appears to still have some room to play with. I remember when I got my fit done, they said I should invest in new bars, new saddle, new seat post.....eventually. Just because you get a fit, doesn't mean the parts needed to get in the right position come free with the fitting.

Compared to all of these others, mine's an oddball AND a senior citizen... but here it is, being used in anger last Friday.

Bingo, the stock saddle was dead center on the stock seatpost. I put this specialized on and the rails are way more forward. Over the course of owning the bike I've bought new bars, stem, wheels, and saddle so it's just the next thing on the list. It's the one thing I could live without changing the longest because it won't necessarily improve anything. I do think since the green bar tape has run it's course I'm going to lower the hoods a bit now that I'm more agile and while I'm at it I'll look for a seatpost.

The hoods are just fine, it's the bar that's rotated back too much.

I actually moved the bars down before riding this weekend and it was a real improvement, my only reasoning for moving the hoods down would have been better reach to the levers from the drops.

Just got this puppy a few hours ago (2015 Evo Force Racing Edition)

I still have to get a new seatpost and put on my deep dish wheels but other than that is it. The fork tube will more than likely be cut to the bare minimum but I want to put in a few miles to be sure.

Can't help but notice that the hoods look a little low on those bars, but maybe you like them in that position. Great looking bike! She is screaming in a whisper for some praxis chain rings though ;-)

Yes, they are. I will get around to that likely this weekend. I didn't fuss over it at first cause I wasn't sure that I'd even like the bars as I am used to a classic drop.

Hey! First post here. Here's my first real bike, which I got a year ago. Only started getting a little more serious now, though I'm sure it's nothing compared to most of you guys! It's a Cannondale Racing 900 2.8 Series—not sure of the year, maybe 92 or 94.

Funny you say that, Their 63cm fits me like a glove and big bikes are hard to come by that don't look like MTB bikes. I am almost saved up to purchase my 2nd Cannondale as we speak.

What pedals do you have on your race rig and daily? I don't think I've seen those before.

Bebop's with ward Ti spindles. I only realized how bad my old Keo Blade Carbon's were (for my hips & knees) after switching to the highest float (20 degrees) pedal available on the market! Ultra light too at around 180grams for the set i believe.
