Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I got my set through Amazon, I think they were about $1200 for the set. I like them, they are holding up well so far and they have some fantastically smooth bearings in the hubs. "IE" spin them, and they just keep going and going. On the down side, they were imported via DHL and there was a $75 customs charge I was hit with unexpectedly. But all in all yes. I like them. They are the aluminum brake surface-carbon wheel ones.

Well, I'm not racing and wanted something fairly light but could take crossing rough RR tracks at speed. The work for me,,,, That's what counts.

Recent acquisition. Everyone tells me I need some better wheels, but I'm riding it for now.

my Synapse has those same wheels and I do not love them. I will, however, ride them until they start to cause problems. They have proven to be durable enough for the time being (albeit only one season) at my 210lbs.

Nice new pickup emveezee. Doesn't matter if you buy a brand new Cervelo, chances are you can use some better wheels. Those Shimano line of wheels are actually really fantastic despite them being about 200-300gr heavier than their competition. They have a great hub design and the wheels themselves are all really nice. Make sure you put enough miles on these wheels to notice the upgrade when you do buy new ones.

Lol. Hey man people spend 3-5k or better on some Zipps, Lightweight or MadFibers. Every mile she puts on those wheels makes them more cost efficient. She does some riding, I am sure they are more than worth it for her. Enjoy SB.

Yeah, I was reading it off the rims on the bike in the picture. at an angle i saw 4 possibilities, none of which were ASTER. Now that I see a proper angle, I get it now. (btw: Fister, FLSTER, RSTER, Aflister) I decided on the first.

Thanks X-LikedRider for the words. I'm not a noob to cycling, but noob to new bikes. Last proper road bike, which I still have, is a 1994 Bianchi Veloce. A number of people have told me the wheels are crap, but, at about 160 lb, I haven't felt like they've been struggling at all.

Once again, Shimano RS10's are not crap at all. They are just as entry level as Shimano makes it.

I knew I was right because I have the same exact frameset sitting in my living room (dark metallic blue though) and it is a 54 cm. The amount of space between the top tube and down tube at the head tube junction is always a dead giveaway!

What kind of headset are you running? Campy Record, perhaps?
