you don't cut the stem, you cut the steerer tube.

^^ I know 6'4". On group rides it feels like I am 1 story above everyone else. Hard to draft unless I am in the drops. Still love riding this thing though

2007 Cannondale Optimo 1, the paint scheme is called "Patriot Blue."
You don't see it on the Cannondale site because the Optimo 1 is shown in raw aluminum and the rendering they have of the blue frame colour makes it look much lighter than it actually is. Here's a Six13 in natural sunlight with the same colour:

It is a 2006 R800, which in Japan comes with the Slice Premium fork instead of the Slice Ultra.
I replaced the stock "Cannondale Carbon Wrapped" seatpost with the "Cannondale Competition" seatpost from the previous bike. That saved 40 g.
I also replaced the stock "Cannondale Road" saddle with the Fi'zi:k Poggio saddle from the previous bike. After removing the plastic scuff guards
and Dremel-ing some of the wings off, I saved another 62 g. I also painted the part of the saddle that used to be gold to black so it matches now
(except it kind of looks like a skunk!). I just wish that they would have traded the silver Shimano R550 wheels for the black ones - I guess that
is just something they just will not do in Japan.
Every moving part on this bike except the FSA headset is Shimano, which I think is pretty sweet.
I still need to re-install the computer, trim the rear brake cable about an cm shorter, and remove the barrel adjusters on the shifters.
Microsoft Excel says this bike should weigh 18.4 lbs with pedals, cages, and computer. The only pieces I am unsure about are
frame: estimated 1250 g (based on 54 cm CAAD 7 actual weight 1210 g)
fork: estimated 340 g (I thought I saw this posted on the Cannondale web site once)
crank: estimated 853 g with BB cups (from Shimano catalog)

Awesome bike. I have a CAAD 7, and while I like the blue R700 just fine, the CAAD 8's win out when it comes to graphics.

I see shiny things everywhere. I'm going to dimmen the contrast a bit and make things a bit smooother.
