Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I took a late afternoon ride up to the Griffith Observatory here in L.A. today. The weather was pleasant but hazy.
Here are some photos leading up to the observatory. The observatory itself has been closed due to renovations but will re-open in spring. The George Harrison plaque is located at the entrance of the observatory parking lot.

Is that up by past the Hollywood bowl? I think it is. There is a water catchment area up there? or am I way off, only went up there once about 10 years ago. Madonna has/had a pink house my friend was showing me up there too.

If you look for it, it's there, right at the Mt. Hollywood hiking trailhead. You can't miss it. I just never bothered to glance over in that direction before...

plin: They are Nitto moustache bars.

ovoleg: It's an old 2mp camera, I'm looking for something much smaller though...

was_bmxer: The areas you're referring to is about 3 miles west of here.

They have phones now with 2mp built in. Same size as your average cellular phone.

No, I don't hate them.
Actually, I've got them on a couple of bikes including my most recent build:

You're thinking of Lake Hollywood, which is west of the sign. The Griffith Observatory is east of the sign.

...and Madonna destroyed that classic spanish house by painting those ugly stripes on it.
