Made it to the 70's
I finally got my weight down to the 170's which was my original goal in the beginning of cycling. I started at around 190 or 195ish.
179 on the scales today :D Anyone else loose some weight this year? |
Nope. It's December 22 and I'm still working on the 5 lbs I gained last holiday season. Thanks for reminding me.
|
I lost 15 lbs over the summer and then gained it back when I broke my pelvic bone. It's hard to get it off now that I can't ride in the evenings anymore and only about every other weekend.

I went from a 36 waist to a 34, and now that's feeling a little loose. Crazy stuff.
|
I have gone from 230 to 211 which is what I weighed in at today. My goal is 195 by April.
|
good for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
203 to 185. Will be happy to stay 186/187 thru the holidays then hit it again after the 1st. Been riding the trainer (Carmichael Time Trial DVD) two mornings a week and tele ski both weekend days. Early season skiing has DEFINITELY benefited from the riding this season.

I gained about 20 lbs a year ago while taking some allergy medication that was corticosteroid based...
I started traning again in march, when I finally got the allergies out of the way and was off the meds. I lost about 8 pounds in the first two months. Unfortunately, I gained this back after a summer training crash where I ended up with a few broken bones in my hand and had to take some time off. Anyway, after starting my training program up again in november, I'm down 9 lbs. My goal is to lose another 12-15 lbs by April. |
i've actually gained weight since i took up cycling!!!!! but i end up eating more... *sigh*..... although i have to say that i was probably too thin when i first started riding (did i REALLY say that???? or rather.. it was really hard and really anal to keep at that weight! i mean NO treats... ever... at all! never!) and no doubt i've actually gained muscle weight through my morning workout regime.. but i'm still not happy and i'm sure 5 of it is eating too much *pout* i'd be happy to lose 5 lousy pounds! that's all! just 5********** please!?! lol! (before you give me the  ... 5 pounds really shows up on a shortie!)
|
I'm in the 170's too, but moving the wrong way. Was 169lbs 6 weeks ago, 176lbs the other night. Damn Christmas snacks and cookies!
|
For everyone that lost fat and gained muscle, congrats! Don't be afraid to indulge in moderation (is that an oxymoron?) over the holidays. Just be sure to get some good riding time in as well.

I can easily lose a pound a week and become King of the Mountain if I took these guys out of the equation...

162 over the summer, 168 this fall, and 176 this am. Time to put the brakes on. |
I got back on the bike this July after 7 years off it. And to make matters worse, I worked a schedule during those years that was horrible for me. Long hours, high stress, fast food for lack of time.
4.5 months later and I've gone from 248.0 to 200.0 today! Mind you, I've got a ways to go since my goal is 165. But I fully expect to be back to my biking shape by late spring/early summer. Along with my gym workouts and healthy eating, I've also been biking everywhere I'd normally drive in addition to my recreational biking. I've gone from a pants size of 40 to 32, too. Gotta love the bike! Here's to keeping up this lifestyle because staying in shape is SO MUCH easier than getting in shape! ;-) ps. Looking forward to tomorrow because I'll most likely dip into 199 for the first time in years. |

I don't look fat, but I want to climb better and that is my long term goal |
136 when i started about 6 months ago. Got down to 118 I am back up to 125 and my goal by the end of february is 114 pounds! Dont know if thats possible if i keep doing my strength training but looking at me now my legs are not well defined and i have a bit of a gut on me so it shouldn't be too hard to lose. Just got to stop snacking so much at night.

You should climb like a beast! How tall are you? |
Ovoleg, that's awesome! When I started cycling a month ago, I was around 195. Don't know what I am now but everything fits more loosely and I've shaved 1:20/mi off my relaxed running pace. How long did it take you to loose the weight?
|
Haha, macca123 might be around his teens and 5' somethin'. I'm 5'8'' and 132, down from 135, but it's fluctuated tons.
