Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

My bar tape from the 80's when I used to race. Just can't seem to find similar replacements anymore. The bar tape offerings now are so "boring."

when I started this stooopid thread it was in response to a 'series' of 'porn' threads, such as "stem porn", "derailleur porn", "headset porn", etc, so I thought handlebar tape was the least sexy, most anti-porn thing on a bike, especially the tape on my beater bike; but it shopuld've been about plain cable or a spoke

there was also "blank porn"

My first bicycle love was back in 1972 over a metallic gold Motobecane Grand Prix that had the leather wrapped bar like that Cinelli...

Alas it was never to be as I did not have the money to win her affections

What's underneath, obviously. Given that, how about you put some pictures up of YOUR rides like people have been asking you to?

You spend $120 on bottle cages, yet you can't afford a digital camera?

And what would I be responding to? A couple of washed-up old men trying to be competitive in the only thing they're capable of - pontification. Nah, that's ok - because all the EPO in the world couldn't make you faster than me. Now go drink some ensure, I hear it makes pride go down easier.

In other words, you have no proof for your claims and your posts/thoughts/opinions are nothing but incoherent ramblings from someone with too much impulse and not enough intelligence. I see that quite a few people here already realize that.

That's fine. If that's how you deal with challenges to your opinion misconstrued as fact, it only showcases your weaknesses. Remember, you're the one who started with the unnecessary namecalling. Pretty obvious nobody can have a reasonable discussion with an idiot like you.

Sorry, but if I recall correctly, your 'challenges' to my opinion were nothing more than childish insults.

Read my original post in that thread again. Would you like me to quote it and you can point out what you consider an insult?

Second, if a drug is abused and/or not used in the way it was meant to be, it can cause shortages (i.e., Tamiflu, Cipro - during the anthrax scare). Also, how the conditions for how a drug is used/prescribed is strictly controlled by the FDA and we (doctors) can lose our licenses for giving medications that don't fit the indication. If you want to complain, then complain about the corrupt doctors and smugglers that obtain these drugs for illicit use, not the company that manufactures them.

I don't know where you're getting your information, but your view of how drug companies work is extremely simplistic and completely false.

Keep in mind Amgen doesn't just make Epoetin Alfa (EPO). They are a pharmaceutical company that manufactures many different types of drugs - i.e., filgrastim, pegfilgrastim, etc.
OK, show me the namecalling and insults.

Do you need some validation in your life? Alright, I'll help you out this time: Your opinion is highly valued here and it's always right! People look up to you and want to be like you, and for good reason; when you say something, people instantly stop what they're doing and think, for the rest of the day, about what you said because it is always deep and intellectual. And doggonit- People like you!
