Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Mikey likey. Did the midget behind the counter do the fitting? If so, you might think about a second opinion.

Thanks again Rad I owe you a good long pull in the next century we do
OK its like this Velocity doesn't like to pay full price for anything.(he's cheap) So he's been building up his R600 with things like K-Wings , Fisik Arione, Easton seat post, Velocity Deep V wheels and anything else that he could transfer to a bike that he thinks is the shizat. I started calling the shops around town asking about the frames and what the price would be for one and they all gave me the 2400 dollar word OUCH but I was going to pull the trigger on it anyway until the last bike shop said that they were going to send this 2005 back to CDale to be replaced with the 2006 and would I like to take this one off there hands for a minimal price I said heck yes and the rest is history. So I decided to buy a new 105 10 speed groupo with it since I have heard great things about them and they are the “sweet spot” in price and design now as mentioned by someone on this forum. So that’s it ,the fun never stops does it guys and girls now I have to rebuild the bike I have had for the last 4 years.

Those shifters really need to be moved down a little. No offence but I don't see how you could safely ride in the drops like that and brake at the same time.

I'm sure if they are wrong he won't hesitate to change them

I'm a bit baffled by folks who can spec someone's fit over an internet connection with just a picture of the bike

Very pretty bike, congratulations! Nice shade of blue. I agree with Canberradude about the shifters, but perhaps your LBS hadn't finished setting everything in place before you took the picture. In any case - enjoy . . .

Normally I would agree with you ziggurat with out seeing the persons set up on the bike it's hard to say but this is stating the obvious really. Dont get me wrong, I love the bike, it's the same electric blue as my CAAD 7 R3000 and looks wicked but theres having higher placed shifters and theres having them point to the ceiling!

Your right these are the shifters that are coming off the bike. I bought the new 105 10 speeds to put on instead. I will be going to Veloce' bicycles and be fitted by Dametre' (ALL HALE DAMETRE'!)
BigSky its Lakeside Bicycles and I see what you mean by the counter it does look alot like B-n-H just needs a couple o grease monkeys hanging out LOL

Velocity -

Congrats dog. Hey, shoot me a PM, let's hook-up top to ride. You can beat me up some more.

Very seriously here. I can't say enough good things about Lakeside. They are my home shop. Old racer dude John there is an OUTSTANDING fitter, a stong rider and a great person. If you are buying the bike there, have him give you a once over. They normally include a fit in the price. He is the real deal for fitting.

Well saw all the new 105's last night and man they rock! Frame was stripped and waiting for the new componants. Dino stopped by to check out the bling and introed me to sizer that he suggested size me to the Bike really nice guy named John and seemed to know anatomy pretty well. We talked at length about his sizing philosophy. Finally got the urge for coffee which we did over at a near by barista called Pete's. Dino looks like he's ready to roll this new year guys said he's been running and training on a tandum carting his little one around those hills in Lake O. Definitely looks like he lost a few pounds over the winter. Looking forward to hitting the hills soon and make a great year.

OK, I need to know. How much does Dimetri and the "magic machine" cost for a fit?
