For 2005, I ("LRZ") was in the 400's, wherever 5,180 miles placed me. I am always amazed at the labors of love you find on the net--sites run by people who do it because they love the subject. I will become a premier member this year--$10!--not because I need the added functions, but as some small recompense for that fellow's efforts.

+1 more here. Nice site, I bought the premier membership, and one of the jerseys. Very nice jersey, one of my new favorites for when it gets warmer.

I joined in December but have not used it yet......just clicked around to see how it all works. I used www.netcyclist.com in 2005 with no problems at all but just wanted to see what else was out there. I'll use it this year to see how it compares.

BJ is a great site. Keeping track of the mileage helps to motivate me into riding more. The forums there are a little weak though. I became a Premere member there because I thought the $10 was very fair. While I enjoy this site I have been putting off subscribing as I think $25 is a little steep for a site of this nature. I am a subscriber to a photo site where the subscription is $12 but they just raised it to $25 and when my membership expires I won't renew there. As good as it is it is just a forum and IMO not worthy of the $25. If this site were $10-12 I would subscribe in a heartbeat because in theory I believe sites of this nature should be supported. OTOH I pay $30 for another photo site because in addition to the wonderful forums there they host my photos and offer great ways to display them to my friends and family. Almost like having my own photo web page.

I'm on bikejournal as well. Panic Cycling.
I'd also premium up here if the price was lower. Probably $15 is the max for me, but I would buy a bikeforums.net jersey.

I was last year, but plan to drop it this season.
I just found that keeping a paper journal in the cycling room, a web log on the net and keeping the Bike Journal was a bit too much.
I'll concentrate on my web log more this coming season because all the stats on BJ just aren't as important to me as the story writing I do about my riding/training both here and on my web log.

I love Bike Journal. I think it's the best site of its nature out there. Not only is it a great place to keep track of your numbers (and highly customizable at that- keep track of any stat you can think of), but it's also a great source of motivation for me. I find myself trying to catch the people ahead of me.
Grasschopper is right. Sign up for the BikeForums team. The team is pretty weak.

I also wish their forum was better. I've always thought that a forum like this one would go really well with some kind of ride log feature, so when you make posts, under your avatar on the left it could show your mileage for the season and maybe a bar showing how far you've gone compared to how far you have left til your goal.

This will be my second year using Bikejournal. I'm on there as OC_Roadie, and my miles go towards the BikeForums team. I've seen a few of you up there, I remember passing DXChulo a couple of weeks ago
.
It's silly, but it motivates me to catch up to those in front, especially if they're from CA or I know them from the forums. I'm enjoying being in the top 50 for the time being
. After my New Years ride, I was #6 for a short while.
