Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Anyone have experience with this baby. I want to know if the unit is coded or not. My problem with their heart rate monitors is that they quit near high tension power lines and cut out near other users.

Don't have experience with using it near other users, but it definitely has issues around power lines. Thought it was broken on one ride but then it started up again after a while and I didn't really think about it until it konked out in the exact same spot when I rode there a second time. Pretty good value for the money, but has its issues around power lines. A colleague of mine has that newer GPS-based Timex that seems to work well for him.

Not coded... Your problem with the HT powerlines is common to all wireless devices. Polar makes coded HRM's as you probably already know. They still cut out riding under HT lines..

Cheers,
Jim

I have nothing but BAD experience with that computer. It is sitting with a plastic case broken and I am not anxious to use it. I like my Polar much, much better.
