Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Six13 Shots: Drool Alert

You asked, we deliver. Photos of my 2006 Cannondale Six13 Team One Dura Ace. I replaced the seat with a Specialized and the tires with Contis. I have over 2000 miles on it. LOVING THIS BIKE. Just doesn't get better than this baby.

Please try not to drool on your keyboards boys.

Special aside to Euro: MADE IN AMERICA. Probably bult by a Nascar fan named Mellow Johnny.

That's some serious drop on that saddle nose. Over all - sweet bike. I've not huge on Cannondales but the Six13 does have some very sweet visual elements to it.

That saddle position took me two months of tweaking to perfect. That's how I've been riding for a while. Mitigates the back pain I have due to a chronic pelvic condition. Long story. But works for me.

Nice bike, I think they look great in that colour.

Can I ask why you have the nose of the saddle pointing so far down?

edit: just saw the above post.

The brifters and crank ruin it for me, but aside from those it looks good.

What's a 'brifter'. Is that a typo for 'shifter'? And why would Dura Ace shifters/cranks (referred to as 'jewel like' by everyone who sees them) spoil this for anybody? Is this Campyitis?

I thought such a bike expert as you would know that a brifter is a brake + shifter combination. And YOU might think that crank is jewel-like, but I think it looks like a big block of ass. I ride shimano, campy, suntour, what-have-you, and just happen to not like that crank. I'm sure there are plenty out there that agree.

Probably just Shimano envy, those DA cranks are the best looking things going on the market right now, no doubt.
Ouch, that seat angle!!!!
I rode the Six13 this past summer on some hills, climbs effortlessly! Nice bike!

Looks great! You appear to be afflicted with the same disease I have - unusually long legs in proportion to the rest of your body.

And of course, I'll throw in the obligatory and totally meaningless - flip it!

Don't call me a 'bike expert'. That implies a level of weenieism I am unwilling to assume. I know what I like and I don't like. And if you don't like Dura Ace stuff that's fine with me. It's not ME that says the crank is 'jewel like' it's every review and every person who sees my bike. Part of me agrees with you - I liked the old DA crank appearance more. But the new one is growing on me. And those brake levers (no, I'm not going to use the term 'brifters') are gorgeous.

Brifters. That's a signal from God that it's bedtime. Good night weenies.

patentcad - doh, I'd almost forgotten about that back problem of yours. Glad that it's working for you. I have the reverse problem where my hands can't take too much weight or they ache badly and the last thing I need is wrist/hand problems being a programmer.

One thing that puts me off Cannondale a bit is the garish plastering of the brand name on just about every tube on the bike.

[edit] I wish i had one.

Ya, sure, that thing looks great too. Is it even available to the general public yet or is there still that waiting list? What's the list price on it now $30,000? All kidding aside, isn't it like an $800 crank? Gimme a break, the Dura Ace is eye watering enough...
