I don't think most shops out of 'Yurp will ship a MET to the US, since they've never passed the required CPSC tests.
Another cool one is the Shain BK 100...has the bug-stopping mesh at the vents, and some kind of "self-healing" foam. $149. US. |
Apparantly Chain Reaction Cycles will.

Atmos, looks great and VERY cool in both ways.

Here's my helmets. Catlike Kompact. Or Kompact 2 as they're called in the states after the redesign.

That Selev is purty, but costs a lot of $$$. |
I love this helmet, I have the grey/silver version but I like this red one better
http://www.cratoni.com/newimages/art.../ceron_rot.jpg also has one of the best size adjustment gimmick too... way better than the Giro Roc Loc systems. |
I know you said "best looking", but the Lazer helmet saved my life in a crash at 45+ mph. It doesn't cost $$$ either. The one shown is similar in style to mine, but I have a red-white-blue design.

The BEll Furio(good), Ghisallo(better) and Sweep(best) are all nice helmets with a good Flow to them. I have a Furio and a Ghisallo and I like them both a lot. Good fit system also.

For our customers in the USA - please note that this is a European version of the helmet and not the one sold in shops in the USA. |

Those are good looking lids. Are they available in the States? Yes, its available in the States. I bought mine through mail-order. Lazer Cycle Helmets |
I think all helmets look cool, if looking cool is important. I see in some photos of other's helmets, some utilize visors. Even tho I have read roadies have no use for visors, I find them helpful in bright sun and buy only helmets with visors.

I would guess that the importer got fed up dealing with all the recall requests. Mine was the Kompact2, the one that passed US inspection. My assumption is that the newest ones would pass as well, but that no one has stepped up to bring them here. The Kompact and the Whisper are available online from the UK at www.prendas.co.uk for pretty good prices. They are probably not CPSC rated. From their website:
thanks for the reply. i went with the blue/carbon kompact (not the 2) because i like the color design better. its my first time ordering from outside the US, hope everything goes ok. |

specialized decibel, I can't find a high-res photo of the black one, here it is in white:
used by davitamon-lotto and domina vacanze, it's the one with the huge oval port above the forehead. http://www.bike-sport.de/specialized...IBEL_WHITE.jpg http://www.specialized-shop.de/image...ibel_black.jpg |
I personally wear this and find it a really comfortable helmet! It's a Bell Ghisallo
