Do you wear your "good kit" while on the trainer?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Its been cold/snowy latley so I've been riding alot on my trainer. This weekend, I ran out of clean "workout clothes" for the first time in a long while. (plain CoolMax Tee shirts) So, it was either a cotton T-shirt or one of my "nice jerseys".

It felt kinda wierd posing in my basement in a nice kit with no one to impress but the cat!

I know how you feel with regard to the cold/snowy conditions ... it's like that too, up here in Red Deer.

My answer to your question is: No. In fact, I'm all set up and about to ride my trainer right now <<heavy sigh>> and I'm dressed in a tank top and an old pair of cycling shorts.

See you all in about an hour.

I don't ride a trainer, but I did model a new pair of tights for my cat today. He couldn't be bothered to offer a compliment, since he had to run upstairs for his nap...

I usually ride in my underwear, unless there are going to be people coming in and out of the room. I never ride for more than an hour, usually shorter, so I don't need cycling shorts.

Hopping on the trainer in a couple minutes. Bike shorts, cut off t-shirt, bandana (head sweats like a mofo), socks, and shoes. Ceiling fan, TV, and DVD player in the living room.

I wear a jersey, but it's kind of dumb if you think about it, isn't it? I like the zipper. That's my excuse.

Yeah....even in my basement where it's 60 degrees and with a fan, I still am quite warm when hammering out the Chris Carmichael DVD's (the Time Trial and Criterium ones are real ass-kickers)....

That's why I just wear the tank top ... I'd die of heat exhaustion (or drown in all the sweat) if I wore much more!

I ride naked on the trainer.

I'd ride that way outside too, but apparently it's illegal.

When on the bike for over half an hour, I think shorts are necessary. also, wear my cheaper jerseys. Opeining the zipper helps to keep me cooler.

When on the trainer I wear bicycle shorts and a coolmax sleeveless shirt. If I ran out of moisture wicking shirts, I would opt for a jersey over a regular cotton t-shirt.

I always ride the trainer in cycle shorts. I'll often toss on a "good" jersey at the start just to psyche myself into a cycling mood, but it's off within five minutes once I start to crank... I get too sweaty.

Some of you are going to be in trouble, yep, big trouble....your immoral thoughts and suggestions of riding without petty coats and proper attire! Shameful! Just Shameful!

Mark my word, a blue star is just waiting to catch you!!

Trainer Gear:

--Always cycling shorts, not bibs. I use old cycling shorts from several years back before I switched to bibs.

--Always cycling socks and my regular riding shoes. Just feels right.

--Always riding gloves. Just feels right.

--Old T-shirt with the sleeves cut off on top.

I ride the trainer in my living room with the heat off, about 55-58 degrees in the house. I wear shorts and a sports bra. I warm up with a cotton tee shirt on but I get too hot for it after about 10 minutes. My husband puts on a fan and even sometimes opens windows to the 30-something temperatures, as he trains in just bibs, no shirt.
