Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I hate to burst your fashion bubble, but the people where we buy our mid-ride Power-Aid (or whatever) aren't to trilled about black lycra either..... just check out the cycling thread on pickupdriverforum.net and see what I mean.

Life is short Mario, I say revel in your red bulge shorts, clown shoes, and sun goggles if it makes you happy.

HPS's point is well taken. In areas unused to bike shorts, any kind of bike short is considered freaky. All my shorts are black except a dark blue. Lite blue can be gross with its' ability to reveal- but darker blue shorts ; I see no difference. Now wearing white shorts- maybe reason to be arrested.

I have navy blue shorts no problemo.
I have Red shorts, no problemo, why? because Etxe Ondo shorts have
a padded, absorbant front so I don't end up looking like that pic
of that team. . .
that said, I don't wear them too much, mostly for training rides where
I'm on my own. They also work really well under tights during the winter.

This thread reminds me of the 2005 Tour deFrance, while I was watching it on TV, my wife who finds cycle racing facinating as well stated "Those White cycling shorts are nasty!" I can't remember what team thst was

Black................or dark blues. Never whites, reds, greens, or if you want..............get the dual colored shorts with the crotch area being in black! That would be fine for the public to see.

Bar someone for what he wears??? discrimination? I've seen some worst fashion desaster on men and woman then white spandex.. the economy would really suffer if we only served to those who have a fashion sense!

I should just settle for these. The black is 'appropiate', and the blue stiches add a bit of zing.

A bit out of my price range, sadly.
