Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

changing triple to a compact

I have a Cannondale that I bought 3 years ago when I first started road biking. As my fitness improved over the years I find that I dont use the granny except for extreme rides like the Horribly Hilly Hundreds. I was thinking of upgrading the 105 triple to a FSA compact setup. What other components need to be changed? Does the front der. and shifter need to be changed? I currently run 105 triple 9-speed group 52-42-30 with a 12-25 cassette.

The only thing required to change is the crankset. I ended up swapping derailleurs for the heck of it though. Ultegra 9s rears and double fronts are cheap. Your shifters are fine.
