2005 Allez Elite
The frame is the only component that hasn't been replaced.

Also, I'm looking for a 54cm E5 S-Works frame. Anyone?

knowledgdropper 03-23-10 09:36 PM

Well alright, another excuse to post my bike!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...CIMG0009-1.jpg

The only update since this pic was taken is that I've found & installed my wayward DA 7800 front derailleur.

acaurora 03-23-10 09:55 PM

Did you by any chance get the Saxo Bank frame, and then get the blue repainted to red? Because that's what it looks like o.O...

Me? Nope. 2010 Pro SL. Isn't the Saxo Bank team issue an S-Works frame?

acaurora 03-23-10 10:19 PM

Ohh, I see. I only have seen Pro SL's in that naked matte black finish, wasn't aware they have a white/red version also.

The Saxo Bank color (white/blue) is on the S-Works as well as the Expert SL, which is what I have. It is also available on the Allez too *cough*... the Saxo Bank logos are just stickers ~.~... I left mine on.

knowledgdropper 03-23-10 10:48 PM

Gotcha- yeah, surprisingly I haven't seen another Tarmac in white/red/black yet- granted, I do only see the same people over & over when I ride....

Pics of your Expert?

**had to lol at your "cough". Honestly, why do companies do that?...

Sorry for the small image. I'll have to learn how to get a better pic into BF.
It's my '09 Tarmac Expert. Got it about 3 months ago and am loving it. All Ultegra, expect pedals which are some inexpensive Nashbars that I am looking to replace. Since this pic I have replaced the Specialized tires with Conti 4000S. Flats were killing me with the OEM tires. The Contis are working great. I was looking for a bike with a compact crank (this one is standard double), and a different frame color. But the deal I was offered on this "new" bike with a warranty was too good to pass. So far, I haven't run out of gears, and I'm OK with the bike color.
The bike really moves when I step on the pedals. The challenge now is to get my riding skills and performance to a level deserving of the bike.

acaurora 04-30-10 06:16 PM

Congrats on the new Tarmac :) Changing to a compact is doable for your bike. I initially regretted going with a standard double when I got mine, since a lot of my rides are in hilly areas, however I have become adjusted to it. Granted a compact would make climbing easier. Enjoy! (And yes the OEM tires aren't that great ... )

Just got around to taking a picture of my new 09 Allez Sport Compact. Got it on closeout for a song. I think the frame is really cool and the white color hooked me and I had to leave the store with it. 105 components all around, CXP22 rims w/Specialized hubs, replaced the nice Specialized stem with a shorter Truvativ I had laying around the house. I'm considering a new set of Psimet's wheels and a new saddle. As soon as I can, I'm replacing the bar tape with red or black, because white looks great in the shop and crappy after a few rides.

acaurora 05-02-10 12:31 PM

The white bartape actually holds up pretty well on my Tarmac.

So many nice rides!

This is my 2008 S-Works Tarmac SL "Quick Step" with SRAM Red. I feel very lucky to have found this bike. Fast, stiff, and responsive (10R Carbon Frame), but the ride is never harsh. Something special about the way the Ksyrium SL's and hubs work visually with this bike. Also, one of the most dependable and trouble free light weight wheel sets for a big guy. I'm new to SRAM Red but I'm very impressed with their technology. All-in-all, Specialized is quite a company.
