Litespeed Classic.

It is a 2004 Litespeed Classic frame with 2007 Centaur. I have changed the stem since that pick. I will take some better ones and post later.

Hi all. Long time lurker, first time poster. Great forum. Finally got my Serotta built up. Just a commuter, really.

my whip. 1994 Raleigh SP 1000. Ti main triangle with remaning fork/tri in 531. Pretty nice. Only bike i've ever ridden except for an old undersized 30lb steel schwinn. Has old school Project X Profile DEsign Ironman aerobars now.

" Hi all. Long time lurker, first time poster. Great forum. Finally got my Serotta built up. Just a commuter, really."

Nice Serotta. One thing, the fit looks a bit odd with the seat position and the large stem spacer stack. The later is most concerning as most carbon forks with carbon steerers warn against having more than 25-40mm on height. Be careful. If your LBS set this up for you, I might go to a different one for a second opinion. Just my 2 cents! Enjoy!

color coordination

Can anyone here -- aesthetic sense or not :D -- advise me? My TST 'cross bike (commuting and light touring) has a Brooks honey saddle. What color should I use for my bar tape?

How about orange (but not flaming, flourescent orange) or perhaps yellow?

There's a bit of red here and there on my FSA carbon stem and handlebars, but I'm not crazy about red.

It's hard to match that honey saddle to anything, short of using Brooks' leather bar tape, which might seem weird with an ergo bar. Help!

PS - The frame is obviously[edit: brushed] silver, and so is the wheelset, but the rest -- including the Thompson seatpost -- is black.

Nice Updates Gang!

I have been thinking about a Ti MTB Frame... However I'm thinking I would like it to be fully rigid. Something that would see primaraly road use commuting and beating around town, but something I could use fat knobbies in the winter time with.

Something like this with a rigid Ti fork, and maybe even in a 29'er style with fenders and HID lighting :) It would be my ultimate urban assault machine.

Looks like a Habanero Team model. What size is it, Gomez?

Me too!

Although I may have to wait until I break my Cannondale CAAD3 frame, which will most likely never happen, unless I biff massively, which will mean I'll never be able to get that Ti frame, 'cuz otherwise I'd already be dead. :(

You are right, it is the Team Issue with 1 1/8 head tube. Size 64 C-T.

Well keep me posted if it ever does happen :D

I have been talking to a few custom builders, just to see what thier capabilities are with Ti, or even Steel.

One is really chomping at the bit to build me a totally custom bike in steel already, sure is different than the take a number to stand in line approch

I will be taking delivery of a 62 cm custom (I needed a shorter top-tube) Habanero Team Issue frame next week. Mine has a 1-1/8" head tube as well. Looking forward to putting it together and taking it out for a spin.

Keep us posted on how your build goes.

Nice. I like it, but according to the bike snobs you have to have an American passport in order to make good ti frames. Frames from China and Taiwan are supposed to suck.

Habanero's based in U.S., right? So it should be OK (?)

Yes, it's all good. Hab is USA based. The welder lives in Asia so there will be those idiots who claim that the welds are crap.

Just Goofy Elitist Internet opinions....

ViperZ 10-24-06 10:16 PM

Well I looked into the SpeedWorks Ti MTB a bit more, and I'm not so sure it'll workout. The largest size they have is a 17". The Smallest I should ride is a 17.5, and really I should be on a 18". Thinking about it a bit more, I was thinking if I build a new MTB, I think I want to go 29" wheels. But damn, that was a hard decision at that price ;) If it was an 18" I might have snapped.

In the mean time, here is a picture from last Weekends Ride in Winterish conditions.
