Most of the weight savings are from the tubular wheelset at 2.6lbs

Yes but doesn't the frame wiegh a rediculous 770 grams or something like that? Congratulations, she looks to be a serious mountain rocket.

Oh how I envy those who can ride such a small frame! Even with a Merlin Extralight you're looking at just about 1400 grams for a 61 cm.

:) Yeah, that kills me with people complaining of how much a bike weighs at 61cm (or 62, for some of my rides).

*high five* to another real frame rider :)

The frame comes with a weight certificate mine is actually 783grams. It rides more like a mountain bike

My virtual 64 compact frame old (2002-3 ?) Ghisallo frame is 990 grams. As frames get lighter the Ghisallos change and get ahead of the others.

Great weight. Not quite sure I understand your last sentence though.

My Ghisallo was the lightest production frame made, the year I bought it. Each year frame makers try and beat the competition with a lighter frame. The Ghisallo has changed a few times since I bought mine. It might not have been the lightest every year since I bought mine, but I think it is now.

crdean1 01-03-08 11:32 AM

Viper, what kind of lights do you use on front and back? Have to get me some of those...

Now I understand. I thought about a Ghisallo, but I got the Merlin at a great price and went with it instead. In any event - nice bikes all!

Beautiful Litespeed build!!! You finally got it as 1000's of BFers were tracing it :D

I love those massive Litespeed TI downtubes; my Bianchi TI is actually a Litespeed and I recently upgraded it with new wheels and a watch cat (in my sig!)

Best of luck; health and happiness Tequila Joe!

This is Mantis' Magia that I have lusted after.. I almost had one like it (deal fell through) :(

Thanks ViperZ. I do love my Magia a ton, it has been an outstanding bike. I have over 7000 miles on it now and all it has ever needed are the common parts that you wear out like tires, shifter cables, chains etc.

It has acquired a couple of light scratches over time but my dealer suggested a ScotchBrite pad wetted down with a little Pledge furniture polish to get rid of them and it works like a charm. All you do is lightly work the pad in the same direction as the bikes original finish and you can't tell the scratch was ever there.

Sorry about your deal falling through, better luck next time!!
