Cyde, I think the Fierte would be a great bike for Jess :)
So I got home and in the mail today was a small gift from Herbert of Litespeed :) http://img515.imageshack.us/img515/7...leopen28fd.jpg A Titanium Litespeed Bottle Opener! I may not use it to open bottles with, but it's a great conversation piece and is the coolest (nicest) bottle opener I have ever owned, Thanks Herbert  |
Holy Handlebars!, I almost missed the Ti party.
Here's my baby. http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i3.../Medallion.jpg http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i3...n52/Cyrene.jpg http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i3...rene-full2.jpg |
And since I know folks never tire of looking at "nude" Ti pictures, or ANY pictures for that matter, here's a little more Ti porn.

Hey Patriot, is that the new ride you just recently put together? Looks sharp. I love that Navy & Gold color combination, e.g., U. Michigan, Navy (duh), etc.
You've got the same tires I have too. Sharp! Nice job. |
Yes, I just got it together a couple days ago, and it is fast. Very FAST. The color combo is strictly Navy, from when I served. I was always under the impression Ti frames are very flexxy, as I know some are, but the one I got is extremely tight. Time will tell, but I'm quite impressed, so far.

http://www.londoncyclesport.com/bikes/robbie/bike.jpg Robbie McEwen's Litespeed Ultimate : 9/3/04 The very bike that Robbie McEwen rode to Green Jersey victory in the Tour de France 2002. I don't totally mind that other one you posted, sure it weird, and strange, but hey, it's different, and it's somebody else's bike  |

Those bars and pedals are not the ones McEwen used in the Tour. It's almost the very bike McEwen used. Not the same wheels either :)

Those are gorgeous Merlins. I won't tell you how mine broke in two places with 40K miles on it. But then again that was a 1991 model with straight guage tubing. And I am assured by people in the bike biz that while this isn't very typical - Tom Kellogg of Spectrum Cycles (who has more experience with ti than just about anybody) told me that >5% of high mileage (40-50K+ miles) frames ever fail. And the good news is that until a Ti frame fails- it essentially feels brand new. My 1995 Ibis still does. I doubt that my Ibis will EVER break. And your Merlins probably won't either.

You can see my Ti Litespeed by clicking "bicycles" in my signature.
Sorry it doesn't look as fancy and polished and show-room new as some bikes in this thread. I guess that's because I ride mine. |

Here is an Updated picture with Pedals, Computer and Saddle bag.
http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/1144/tusk58ic.jpg Most of the snow on the streets have cleared and it's looking dry enough to ride, but there is lots of gravel and glass on the streets yet, so I have to ride my MTBs for the time being. |

Here is my compact geometry Dean el Diente CTi powder coated British racing green on the front 1/2. My compromise to getting Ti over Steel. Sorry guys but plain Ti is very boring (almost soulless) and big gaudy decals don't do it for me. Even the SR-71 was painted!!! I have since taken the decals off the DT and it looks even better. How that Metallic BRG glitters in the sun! However it is a Great ride!

Melin Extralight, circa 1995. Rides really well. Looking to change the fork/headset/stem soon. Posted picture already on the "What road bike do you have" thread.
