Shoe question
I've just bought some Nike shoes to go with my Look pedals and I can see that the cleat screws on to the shoe in three places but within the sole of the shoe is a bit of metal with four holes in it, whats this for as it rattles around?

I'm guessing that they are mounting holes fro SPD type cleats. SPD cleats use 2 holes. My Nike mountain bike shoes are the same way with 2 pairs of SPD mounting holes. They slide aroung to provided adjustability for SPD cleats.
Do they rattle around while you ride or are you just curious why they are able to move around? Maybe you can get some to put in there to keep them from rattling around.

The rattle bothered me on occasion, so I wadded up part of a pipe cleaner and wedged it in with the loose nut to keep it from moving.

I was able to remove the metal plate by taking the insole out and getting to it from the inside. Lighter weight that way, if your shoe can do that

Yeah it rattles when riding but I think I've fixed it, I lined up one of the holes on the plate with the front hole on the shoe and the front screw that holds the cleat on is long enough to screw into the plate.
