Delta Michelangelo
I live in a small 1 bedroom Apt, and I am looking for a way to keep my bike inside. I was wondering if anyone has used the Delta Michelangelo rack. I like that you do not have to make holes in the wall.

I'm thinking of getting something much like that for my place. I like the idea of i leaning agaisnt the wall. Hope it doesn't slip out.
But I have four bikes. Would it be too much to get a 4-bike stand?

I have one and I like it alot. I dont use it all the time, but since I use my trainer in the living room, its alot easier to toss the bike on the wall if I'm going to use it the next day. It doesn't take alot of room, and it holds our bikes, which are about 40 lbs. I dont really have anything too bad to say about it.

My brother who lives in NYC uses one of these in his apartment. It works great. It has a decent look to it, enough so his wife lets him keep his bikes in the living room.
I have a rack from Performance that I use to store my bikes inside. It's a self-standing things and holds two bikes.

Just got a Delta Michelangelo rack. It's a great design - looks good, no damage to walls, independent arms, feet don't protrude far from wall, stable even with a bike only on top rack. But the production quality leaves something to be desired. The bolts heads and threads are very soft. Don't bother using the allen key they send with the unit - it's too soft to be useful - throw it away before you strip bolt heads. A bit of paint was chipped off one of the tubes in production or in transit, but too much of a hassle to return for this, I'll just try to find some matching touch-up paint. Customer service seems pretty good so far - they are sending me new bolts - I'll update this thread when I receive them.

I've used one for about half a year now. Its great, it takes up so little space that I can keep my bikes in my "foyer", if you can call it that in a 1bd apartment. And they make great conversation peices when company shows up.

That's a hilarious pic.
Can you imagine a mud encrusted cross bike hanging there while your in-laws are trying to cut the roast on that dinner table?
LOL

Sent an email to Delta - we'll see if they remedy the issues. I'll update this thread if/when I receive a response.

When removing the original soft bolts from the arm clamps, one of them stripped, so now it's stuck.

Pros: Design, great customer service
Cons: Not so great machining and production quality
No doubt they could build a better product, but would have to move to a higher price point. Given that this rack is considerably cheaper than some of the other off-the-shelf 2-bike racks AND has a nicer aesthetic (IMHO) than many of the competing racks, I guess it's not surprising that production quality is merely fair at best.
