Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Can brake levers be moved closer in?

I was wondering if brake levers on a road bike could be moved closer to the bar for a easier reach. Can you?

Small hands? Hard time reaching your brake levers? These shims bring the brake levers 20mm closer to the drops, improving comfort and control. Specifically designed to reduce the reach on Shimano STI brake levers.

* Reduces the reach by 20mm on Shimano STI levers to improve comfort and control
* Fits Shimano 105 and Ultegra 9-speed levers, Shimano Ultegra 10-speed levers and Shimano Dura-Ace 10-speed levers

You can make your own shim.
This thread used to have pics but I see they're gone now.
