Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Long Island Fitting

Anyone know a good bike fitter on Long Island?

How much would it cost?

I had mine done at Cycles Plus in Huntington, but it was a while ago. Don't remember the cost, but it wasn't alot. Worth checking out.

Above all I recommend Bike Junkie in Bethpage. Doug is the man. Just have lots of time - nothing happens quickly there. And that's a good thing.

Try Roadwerx in Syosset

It's a small roadie/tri shop on Muttontown Road in Syosset. Will is an excellent fitter who uses the Serotta system. Prices are reasonable. The guy is also a top-notch wrench. Check 'em out.

I'm told that Doug at the Junkie in Bethpage is also good. My friend just had a bike fit and built by him and recommends him. He's been there forevever and has a loyal following.

Can't recommend Cycles Plus.

Bought a Madone from Brands and they did some measuring but seemed like pretty standard stuff

having some lower back strain on right side only which makes me think i am reaching a bit too much on that side and maybe need smaller crank on just that side

Also feel i am rotated too much forward on the seat

I live near both of those places so I can check them out
