Shifting in the drops?

Is there some sort of technical reason why the Sora brifters can't have the upshift paddle like the rest of the Shimano STIs? It almost seems like they're designed to prod people to upgrade after riding their entry-level bike for awhile, and I'd think most people would upgrade to 105 or Ultegra rather than Tiagra. Just a conspiracy theory.

I was able to reach my Sora thumb buttons from the drops with no problems. A slight twist of the wrist perhaps, but I did it all the time. It greatly depends on the length of your hands and not the amount of chimp DNA you possess. Big guys have big hands, big hands can reach the Sora thumb buttons.

No aggression at all. Personally, I found my "home game" line humorous, and it was only said in humor. I suppose that's my bad for not adding in a smiley at the opportune time.
Truth be told I didn't even know you were the same guy from the extra spacers conversation until after I read your comment above and cross-referenced your ID. It takes a LOT more than something of that nature to offend me enough to go on a propagandized war against another poster.
