Rolf Vector Pro wheels any good??
The bike I'm getting (Trek 5500) has Rolf Vector Pro wheels with Continental tires. Are these wheels considered to be of good quality?
Thanks

I've heard mainly good things about them from folks in my bike club. Here are some primarily good reviews: https://www.roadbikereview.com/cat/wh...3_2490crx.aspx

I have them on my used Cannondale, and though I have nothing to compare them to, they seem fine to me. Very light and I'm told they're pretty reliable. Though I have no idea how you true these things when/if that day comes...

Though not a current model, they were considered very good for their time. Around 1800 grams for the set and solid as a rock. Several well respected current wheels were born from their lineage, including the Bontrager Race X-lite and X-lite Aero.
Not to mention all the current Rolf Prima wheels.

A buddy of mine had an older set of Vector Pros. He found a crack in the rear hub and couldn't get either Trek or Rolf to replace it, so he threw them out and is now riding Mavics.

Ya, 've read a few horror stories about cracked hubs and both Trek and Rolf telling people "too bad, so sad"
Oh well...they sound like they'll work for this guy..thanks!

Great for racing. For training, if you're over 180 lbs, I'd look at something w/a higher spoke count. The cross section is nice though.
It's not a durable configuration. By durable, I mean something that will last for 50,000 miles or more. I have a friend who is 6'4", but skinny and rides the Rolfs. He still knocks his rear out of true every month or so, but he rides them full time. When they finally cave, he's going higher spoke count for a replacement.
