Collingwood (Blue Mountain) rides?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Collingwood (Blue Mountain) rides?

Anyone have any interesting, quiet road 100-120K rides in the Collingwood, Ontario area? A group of us are headed that way next year on a conference and I'd like to lead a few rides through the area. We'll probably ride three days and ideally I'd like to have a few different routes. There must be a few quiet country roads through that part of Ontario, through some of the small towns would be great.

Any input would be helpful. Thanks in advance

A few people from the Oakville Cyclepath group went on a ride up there this past Sunday. I didn't go but, if your seeking some information for routes and such you can call Alan (leader) @ 905 338 0783 and he might be able to help you. There is supposed to be some good roads going up the mountain...

cheers

Oh I forgot...I was up there last summer and road along the rail trail....It was 55km one way if I remember correctly (Collingwood to Meaford??) but its pancake flat - hope that helps..
