Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Hey people, i am back after a LONG time!

Hello all, i have been rather busy, not knowing where my life was going to be (either in London or LA), the last time you all heard from me i was looking into buying a scattante cfr from supergo, which i did (got an amazing hook up from a friend that works there).

I then made some posts asking obvious questions that i wanted to know about, rode around LA for a few weeks and then packed up my bike into a hard-shell (which has only been used once and is for sale if anyone wants to buy it).

I ended up getting a fantastic job out here and have been settling in for the last 6 months.

I recently decided after gaining about 5 pounds to start biking again (sitting in an office all day and doing weights 3 times a week at the gym just wasn't cutting it).

So yesterday i did the following:Bev Hills to Malibu.

My route was:

Down Santa Monica Blvd
-right on westwood
-left back down to SM blvd
-right on Bundy up to San Vicente
-down SV to Ocean
Went down ocean for a while, until i could do a right onto the bike route along the beach, which was about 3 miles down.
Went half way to malibu, pretty far down, realised it was far, had some gu, snapped some pics and headed back the exact same way to Brentwood, grabbed a Jamba Juice and chilled for 25 mins, then back down bundy to SM and into Bev Hills!

Time taken - around 2.5 hours including stop.
Avg Mph was around 11+, i didn't reset my speedo before i left.
Miles: ?? possibly 30-40?

Anyway, had a great time, couldn't go too fast along the beach because it was PACKED!

Any other road bikers in West LA on here? I intend to take this route every Sunday, and perhaps a different one every Sat aswell as spinning classes Mon, weds and Thurs at my gym.

Anyway, it is nice to be back, so a big hello to all!

And P.S. My bottom hurts!
