Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Hello Knave? Come in please Knave?

Well I would have thought the beast would have finally showed his ugly head on 6-6-06.

But alas, I have not seen "The Knave" on my regular training route for over two weeks now!
He has never been missing for this long in the last five years.

Could it all be part of some sort of sinister plot?

Where is he?
What is going on?

Hip Cyler to Major Knave ...Hip Cyler to Major Knave :
Take your protein pills and put your helmet on
Hip Cyler to Major Knave: Commencing dress down kit is on
Check air pressure and may God's speed be with you

This is Hip Cyler to Major Knave, you've really made the grade!
And the Forum posters want to know whose kits you wear,
Now it's time to leave the side walk if you dare

This is Major Knave to Hip Cyler , I'm stepping into my clips
And the floats feeling the most peculiar way
And the streets look very different today

For here am I sitting on a Lite Speed, far above the urban sprawl
Shammies I bought are blue and there's nothing I can't do

.....

Though I'm passed one thousand miles, I'm feeling very strong
And I think my Lite Speed knows which way to go,
tell hipcycler I miss him very much he knows

Hip Cycler to Major Knave:
Your crit's dead, there's something wong.
Can you pass me Major Knave?
Can you pass me Major Knave?
Can you pass me Major Knave? Can you ...

Here am I training on my Lite Speed, far above the urban sprawl
Shammies I bought are blue and there's nothing I can't do

I'm going back out tomorrow.....He HAS to be out there somewhere. Things just don't seem right on the old route without seeing him now.

Every time I saw someone ahead or coming at me today I thought it might be him....but he has disappeared I tell ya!

Maybe he's taking some OCP classes at UWM to get up to speed. I hear they have a great OCP program there. Top notch, It's even integrated into the Psychology department.

Indeed.
We're in negotiations now to hire me as a guest lecturer during the fall semester.

I'd hate to be the one to say this...

From previous descriptions, I always assumed he was kinda old... maybe he's dead.

He could be sick....
He's older....retired maybe?
But not that old....unless something bad happened to him.

I hope not.
He became, over my last six years on this route, like part of the scenery.

the only other explanation then, is that you have not been sufficiently OCP during your last two weeks to draw him out of his lair.... this doesn't sound likely, so I'm sticking to the sick/injured/dead theory.

OK...
I'm taking the camera along on my ride tomorrow in the hopes that he returns and I can get a shot and report back here.

OK hip... here's the deal (insofar as I can say that anyways)... What's really happening is that the Knave actually has been stalking you... I don't know, perhaps he's part Ninja or something. Try this: somehow mount the camera to take pictures of what's behind you. Any blurry streaks going across the picture aren't includes or anything (or whatever they call them in the photography world), it's really the Knave being clandestine.

Or it's a UFO.

either way, we need proof of absence... you know that old scientific axiom...
