Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Between the tires/Days of Thunder philosophy?

I was riding today and saw a chipmunk up ahead, it was on back legs chewing on something. I steered right as far as possible, at the last second(you guessed it) it darts towards me . I looked down andit made it right under my crank and went into the weeds. I have had issues with these spoke menacing varmits . I was wondering how it would work to use the wisdom of Cole Trickle from Days of Thunder, his philosophy was to drive towards an accident, because by the time he got there the wreck would have slid out of the way. If I aim right at the rodent will he engage me in his last game of chicken, or scurry away which would guarantee he will not be in the original spot as I get there. If this works than Tom Cruise will not be a total waste!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually, that's typically what I do. I ride straight at the squirrel, and he always skedaddles out of the way. The one place you know he won't be is where you first saw him.
