Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Cannonadle Synapse flat bar

I was checking out the local Border's bookstore this weekend and saw in the June 2006 issue of Cycling Plus magazine (a British bike mag), on page 10, there was a short article on a new Cannondale Synapse flat bar in carbon frame version w/ shimano 105 components and alloy frame version w/shimano tiagra components. Does anyone with "insider" info know if this will be offerd in the US. I hope so!

If it's not, you could always pick up a used Synapse frame off Ebay, and build one yourself they way you want. I have been thinking about doing this for a town bike, except I would probably go with something Ti or Aluminum.

Sounds good to me. I am wondering why no one has done it with the new Campy Flat Bar Controls. The carbon lever Chorus controls are so beautiful, but expensive. They would make a great high ride.
