Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Sunburn

Was going to post this under the Skin Cancer thread...but got tired reading thru all of the bickering. Reminded me of something: Bought a new jersey a while back...two panels on the back are mesh fabric...

4 hr ride Sunny ride + Mesh fabric + no sunscreen on my back = funky sunburn on my back. Owwch.

I went sleeveless during what may be the hottest days of summer last weekend and my arms/shoulders got toasted. Even used sunscreen but it wore off

I really like the aloe w/lidocaine for relief. its nice and cool and seems to help with the tenderness.
