I'm in a similar boat. I'm 5'11" with broad shoulders/upper body and weigh 185ish. Try as I may I find it difficult to get my weight below 182. I don't mind though, the fat is burning off and that's what matters :D I can climb like a gazelle, but that's on my mountain bike heh.

ramtaajogi 06-30-06 06:59 PM

5'10'' , 150 lbs. age 22. finally gaining some muscle weight after all these years.

onkey 06-30-06 07:03 PM

5"11

148

jimblairo 06-30-06 10:27 PM

6"6" and 230 lbs. Down from 246 in April and I will probably make 220 with the hot humid weather coming up.

breadbin 07-01-06 03:49 AM

5' 11" 100kgs I need to lose a kg or two

Mojo Slim 07-01-06 10:39 AM

6'2" 195 I read that the "perfect" weight/height ratio for climbing: mulitply your height (in inches) by 2.

NFields 07-01-06 12:24 PM

5'6" and 132 pounds, down from 152 last year. I smile when I climb!!!

5'8'' 118 lbs. 17yrs. old. I know, I'm a twig, but I am VERY strong for my size... especially my legs!:D

Oh yeah, somewhere around 3% body fat (average of several online caculators)

56/12 and 22/28 07-01-06 02:43 PM

5'11 1/4'' and 134 lbs.

17 years old.

3.3% body fat.

Martinello 07-01-06 02:57 PM

184cm (6'1") and about 72kg (159lbs). Once tried to dip down to 67kgs (148lbs) and about 6% body fat - worst thing I ever tried, ruined my entire Spring season (and subsequently broke my left ankle in a crash - but that's any story)

55/Rad 07-01-06 02:57 PM

5' 2" and 290 pounds. It's been a difficult year.

It would appear so.

Blame it on the war...

or pregnancy.

5'10 155lbs, 23 years old.. damn you guys are lanky!

And as to the double your height in inches to find your ideal cycling weight.. I'm not sure I COULD ride if I weighed 140. As it is there's only maybe 5 or 10 lbs of fat that were muscle before a lazy winter!

countryrider 07-01-06 05:08 PM

some of you guys need to eat more, hit the weight room, do something, lol. The concave chest may be in for cyclists, but I'm long off that. 5'8" 185 lbs., 7-8% bodyfat. I can't lose weight! I do climb well though, because a lot of my weight rests in my legs.

I'm 6'5" and 145lbs, <4% bodyfat. I'm a skinny guy and I find its extremely hard to gain weight. Being a college student, I simply cannot afford a 6000 calorie diet, which is probably what I need to gain any sufficient amount of weight. lol

I'm extremely active, in great shape, and I feel great, so it doesn't really bother me that I'm a lightweight.

Martinello 07-02-06 12:55 PM

Where do you guys come up with a body fat percentage around 3-4%?? Impedance measurement, DEXA-scan, skin fold measurement, under-water-weighing or from some chart? 3-4% body fat is insanely skinny and you'd be hard pressed any pro rider with af BF <5%

Electrical Impedance.

I have a Tanita scale.

Dohickey 07-02-06 01:05 PM

5'10" and 157 and 58 years old and bike 10-30 miles per day to stay healthy. Feel great!

dmitrivich 07-02-06 02:00 PM

6'1" and change, 180 lbs. Have a little around the mid-section that could go, so ~175 lbs. would be optimal.

YATES 07-02-06 02:23 PM

6'0 190

DonD 07-02-06 04:35 PM

5'7", 140 lbs.

I've put on about 15 lbs in the last 18 months, mostly through training. I was never really muscular, but I've put on enough muscle for my coworkers to notice and comment on it.

Mike_Morrow 07-02-06 09:05 PM

6'0", 160 lbs.

Down from 390+ lbs

I am a bit of a fitness animal for obvious reasons now.

umd 07-02-06 11:54 PM

5'10", about 123lb right now
