Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Fizik Arione cutting into area below ass.

I just bought this saddle the other day, and the saddle seems to be cutting into the area below my ass cheeks on my downstroke. Sorry for being stupid, but what is the solution to this problem? The area that is rubbing is the wing area. Thanks in advance. Any help on the setup of this saddle? I have read a bunch of threads and came up with differing opinions.

sounds like a width issue specific to your anatomy, not much to do except try another saddle. Have your tried a SI Flite or maybe even an Aliante if your want to stick with FIzik?

Me too

I had the same problem with mine on three metric centuries. I finally tweaked it forward a bit (<1/4) and it solved the problem. Nice saddle too by the way!

Do you find that you need to set this saddle up differently than other saddles you have owned?

For me, seemingly further forward and a bit more tilted up in the nose for the best comfort I could get. I think I'll soon be changing saddles though. I've been on my Arione since March but still haven't beat the numbness issue completely after a lot of adjustment. I've had absolutely no chafing or saddle sores though, just the numbness. 190k ride on Thursday was not so fun in the saddle area. Back to a cut-out saddle for me, I think.

It could be that this saddle just may not be right for you. I went through several saddles before I finally found something comfortable. It ended up being a WTB Speed V Comp that I got for $30 after shipping. I know that some LBS' will let you try different saddles as long as you don't tear them up. Mine said they would keep exchanging saddles until I was happy. I found the WTB by accident and had to order it because nobody had it local.
