Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Modern Substitute for Cinelli 66 Bar

Can anyone recommend a comparable bar to the Cinelli 66? There aren't many traditional bend bars out there anymore and I'm not a fan of the anatomic grip. In looking on the Internet it seems that Ritchey offers a bar in a classic bend, but it's not as deep as the 66.

deda offers classic drop bars in belgian (deep) and italian (shallow) for the 215 bars

I use the 215 deep/belgian drops

there's a good article at competitivecyclist.com about the new deda campione (absurdly priced at $400) that discusses Deda's committment to classic bend bars

https://cbike.com/Deda_Elementi.htm

as the guy above said the Oval Concept bars are highly regarded, as well as the Ritchey stuff

nitto has some great stuff also

good luck

(btw, a riding pal scored two NOS 66's, so they're out there--just hard to find)

Thanks - I just ordered some Ritchey classics. There are some 66-44cm Cinellis on eBay but that also leads to stem issues, whereas I can just bolt on the Ritcheys and ride away.

Cinelli did make 66's in 26mm diameter (instead of the old 26.4mm) for a few years. You might get lucky on ebay.

I found a pair of Top 64's 42cm wide 26mm diameter in near new condition the other week on ebay - $30 Australian delivered from the UK!!!!!!
