Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Yeah. Colnago had their World Champ model when Oscar Freire won his two titles. I don't know if anyone did it before that but it will certainly be the trend now.

But would you buy one?

If Specialized had had that paint scheme in one of the Allez when I bought my bike, I would have bought it.

Yep. got to admit that I would consider one too. I currently ride a colnago with the Mapei paint job, so I guess I'm not afraid to be a little flashy. Someone once told me that the Mapei style looks like someone puked all over the top tube.

This new Cipo ride sure doesn't look puked on!

The rainbow stripes are in the zebra motif. I like his new zebra stripe outfit this year- looks better.
I wouldn't ride the WC colors. Around here, the rainbow means something else....

I think the only people allowed to race with the World Champion stripes are actual World Champions. Maybe that just goes for clothing and not the bike.

I believe that just goes for the clothing. Many bikes have World Champions stripes on them. Perhaps you're not allowed to race in the year of the reign of the WC?

racerx and sipperphoto,

IMO, you're more likely to get your asses whupped by some redneck who doesn't like lycra than hit on by a gay man who thinks you're sporting the rainbow flag.

It's not the same set of rainbow colors anyway.

It looks ok but I'd rather have a different paint job (like most of the Treks ). It seems sorta...laid back and Mario is not a "laid back" kind of guy . Other than the color I think the bike looks fine but I'm not partial to the compact geometry and would much rather have a non-sloping top tube.

So does Cipollini!
I think the Specialized look really sharp though.

I really like the bike, but I also have the E5 that they made last year in zebra stripes, so I decided that last years regular team bike looks cooler to me than this WC one, but I do like white bikes, even if they are really hard to keep clean, so I love it, but then again Cipo is my favorite cyclist of the current era, so how could I go against this bike.
