Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Tour of the Hamptons

Has anyone ridden this before?

I'm thinking about making the trip down to Long Island as its probably the least hilly of all the centuries in the area.

Will probably do it. Nice ride. Flat as hell but the wind can be your best friend or your worst enemy the last 20 miles.

Problem I just learned. The century kicks off at 7:30, means I'd have to be on the road around 5am. yeah.

That's not going to work
