Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

sheeesh you guys get worked up over the lamest sh*t! It's just a t-shirt. I don't think it's implying cars are bad, it's implying it does not take gas and with gas at the cost it is now, I thought that was more the point.

At any rate, the shirt's not OCP enough for me. I'd never wear it while I was on a bike, and it would be pretty silly to wear it when not on one...

love you rgerve.

Anyway, seeing as I am a smartarse, I'm going to make a smartarse comment.

When you ride a bike you burn fuel (food and water). How does that food get to your house? It gets driven there from the store. How does the food get to the store? It gets driven from the factory. How does the food get to the factory? It gets driven from the farm. How is it harvested? With a machine driven by an internal combustion engine. How is the machine and all the seed, fertiliser etc delivered to the farm? It's driven there.

Everything has an environmental cost, and slightly modifying a rich western lifestyle by riding a bike does nothing to the impending doom of the planet.
