Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

the sram stuff is nice but doesn't hold a candle to the campy stuff. take a look at the new compact cranks and skeleton brakes! www.cbike.com

- interesting statement on the cbike site:

CeramicSpeed Bearings
will make you go faster!
(Now Available)

US$129 for a set of derailleur pulleys and bearings?
US$229 for a set of bottom bracket bearings and BB?

Holy smokin' Jeebus!

I think the coolest thing about the SRAM gruppos is that when you're in the drops, you can hold the trigger for the derailleurs and then shift w/o having to change your hand position.

But I'm not a big fan of using the same lever for up/downshifting - b/c you push it further to the left to downshift, but not as far to upshift. Just personal preference I guess.

Ceramic bearings have the ability to rotate faster. You must be one hell of a human if you can take advantage of this advantage.

Picked up my new bike with SRAM Force last night & just got back from a rocking group ride. I've ridden Shimano for just about forever, so there was a little bit of head reprogramming needed.

Other than that, I think I'm in love.
