Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I had all day to think about it. I was going to post in the SoCal forum and only post what was in the first post except then the big oops happened, and I decided others might as well know since they'd get a kick out of it.

Without your fancy expensive R3'S and such, and brakeless. Whatchu' got on me?

Wow, what an adventure you had there.... sorry the girl didn't appreciate the effort! Keep trying though... a girl worth keeping will appreciate it!

Hope your shoulder is feeling better!

I'm not sure having our friend on a road worried about getting run over is something to get a kick out of ... gotta worry about your sense of humor Jas'

... okay, I guess the visual is kinda funny now that we know you are safe and sound!

Nice job Jason! Good write up too, you've come a long way in the last year. I would suggest using some sort of sport/electrolyte replacement drink when you're doing these rides, the calories and electrolytes are crucial, especially in the sort of conditions you were in today. I can't wait until the next time I get to do the "Pie" route. Take Care...

Glad to hear you came back to complete this ride! I must do the same one day...
And awesome report, Jason! I'm sorry to hear about your mishap near the end but glad it all turned out all right.

Very nice report Jason - it is quite an experence for the first solo time...

We won't tell about my hardest solo century

I really enjoyed SAG support for BF and other centuries, it is quite a different experience from being on the bike to off... I can not wait until Oct 14 for our next chance!
