Ritchey's New Carbon 4-Axis Stem
Just got their new 2007 catalog showing their awesome new 4-Axis Matrix "CarbonAlloy" stem. Simply a thing of beauty. Too bad its not available yet. Their website doesn't even show it yet. When I get a chance I will post the catalog pic later tonite.

that isn't it that is orbea's in house brand. all it is is the wcs with a wrap of carbon around it and a black bar clamp. It does look sweet though, I wonder if they were able to take any of the weight off. I might have to purchase it down the road to get everything on my new bike pretty much carbon.

I have the "regular" 4-Axis stem. The fact that this "new" carbon stem appears to be simply a cosmetic carbon layer on top of a metal stem is hilarious. I thought the point of carbon fiber was to make parts lighter and/or slightly more comfortable (i.e. vibration dampened). It is very attractive, though, I will say that.

The carbon layer might simply allow them to use less alloy in the stem. I've got a 4-Axis myself, and it makes quite the couple with my WCS Classic bars
