Flyte SRS-3s on ebay even cheaper! (99.99)

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I went with the carbon seatpost for the additional setback; the effective top tube on the Flyte is 2cm shorter than my current bike and that's before you factor in headset stack height. Now that i'm less flexible I could probably benefit from 1cm less but I need to get that other cm back somehow. If it's more comfortable that is purely a bonus.
The stem and bars are a nice add-in because they negate the need to spend money right away on better ones. I bought the frame with the notion those other parts were throw-aways. If I get some use out of them that's great.

I don't like the supplied Flyte bars either. The tops are OK but the bend and the drops are too thin (diameter of tubing) and the drops are too short when you're all the way down, not long enough.

PERFECT! The fork is the integrated one. Beautiful, and just what I wanted. Unfortunately I can now find it for almost $50 less due to the closeouts....but mine is alrady here! I LOVE IT!

Please excuse me. I need to be alone with it right now...

EDIT:BTW - I ran some numbers because everyone was talking about weight. I think I got most of my parts in the calcs, but you know I will forget or underestimate something. That being said I ended up with a 18-18.5 lb build. 1/2-1 lb heavier than my Giant. Not bad, and far lighter than I expected.

I'm going to create a new thread probably tonight with all my pictures (I have many) and it will be my build thread seeing as I got a Ritchey Pro Compact crankset. Im hopin that that crank works with 10spd campy (I am down the line going to buy 10spd veloce from PBK)

one thing, if this is going to be a thing about why you need a bike like that because your X -age please, dont.

I aint going out and buying a full record 10spd. set up, Im budgeting the crap out of this bike. So its not like im buying whatever the hell I can because I think its going to make me a better rider, i currently ride a bianchi brava and ride the crap out of it.

Im just expressing concern, if you arent intending that then forget I even said it!

Yeah, if I had that stuff show up at my house today, I'd be acting like I'm 12. And I'm an old phardt.

Good for you, hi565. Now git bizzy, so those bulging veins on StalkerZERO's forehead don't blow up.

It's okay as long as you don't break any bones when you tackle the delivery guy....his bones, okay...yours, not so much.

My issue is my build is coming in 3 phases and I don't want to tarnish it by posting pics of every single step.

Phase 1 - Flyte frame with my old D-A grouppo and Ksyrium Elites (this weekend)
Phase 2 - replace the old grouppo with new Ultegra (probably 6 weeks away)
Phase 3 - replace the Ksyriums with Mike Garcia specials (10weeeks away)
Phase 4? - carbon bar and stem? (not sure)

I'm going as fast as I can, the crank should arrive by the end of the week and tonight im ordering my shifters/cassette and possibly chain from PBK. its going to be a slow, but fun build

other thing is that, i can be pretty damn excited because I have been working and paying for this bike myself, which puts it at another level (Semi cheeze but Its true)

I did a test fit of my fork tonight too. However I bought the 43mm and a 40mm was delivered. Anyone else running a 40mm rake on a Flyte? I'll probably send this one back and try to get a 43mm out of the seller if he's got one. Here's a pic of how she's sitting with a borrowed wheelset off the Gazelle:

I got my frame today. size 56. I have an Ultegra 10 sp group and some other parts for the build coming this week or begining of next week. I'll probably have it ready by the end of the month. I hope the weather stays nice here in RI long enough for me to enjoy it.
