Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Removing decals from a carbon frame...

What is the best way to do this without damaging anything?

Most carbon frames have the decals under the clearcoat, so the only way to truly remove the decals is to strip off the clearcoat (not recommended). If you want your ride to be decal-less, get it repainted.

yeah, I'm working on removing the annoying "warning: read the owners manual before riding" sorts of decals that are plastered all over it, which are over the clearcoat. I'm okay with the manufacturer/model stuff.

A hair dryer on a medium setting will soften the adhesive to allow you to pull off those warning stickers. Then a little Goo-Gone or similar to remove any remaining traces of adhesive.
