Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

At the rate the OP is moving, she'll have grandkids before he gets back over there. Pick up the pace a little! You wait too long and its going to seem even wierder than it already does.

Go to her apartment complex, take a big boombox, hold it over your head while it blasts out Peter Gabriel's "In Your Eyes".

Works every time.

I don't know if it was already mentioned, since I don't feel like reading all 4 pages....but if you know where the apartment is, and if you can find her Jeep, leave a note underneath the windshield wiper.....

Hey dude. That was me that picked you up and I am a 55 year old overweight woman with 6 grandchildren. You hit your head so hard that weren't seeing or thinking straight. I hope you are feeling better but stay away from my apartment building and don't call me.

Take a shot anyway and whatever you do, DO NOT buy her a gift. It reeks of desperation.

Don't do anything that could be a scene in a chick flick (nice guys rarely get the girl) and don't listen to other women for advice either (they'll never admit what they really want, that is if they themselves even know).

Just play it cool.

Awesome.

My wife would totally dig that. She's so into 80's movies. She's always like, "Why can't you be more like Anthony Michael Hall." And I'm like, "Baby, because you know I'm totally Judd Nelson - and you know you can't tame a bada$$ outlaw like Judd Nelson." Then I flick the mullet we make out while I pump my fist into the air.

God, I hated the 80's.

I didn't get to go last night, but I'm going tonight. I think it's kind of funny that you guys started bringing up 80's movies, specifically Say Anything. My x-girlfriend used to say that I reminded her of John Cusack. Whenever she would watch one of his movies, I'd get points for things that I didn't even do, even after we broke up. "Chris, I just watched Must Love Dogs, I need you to come over."

So what's the deal now with you all saying not to give her flowers? I'm not talking about a dozen roses here.

I wouldn't bring a gift or flowers, to me it sounds desperate.

Just show up, thank her for helping you out, and then mention that you'd like to take her out to dinner as a thank you gesture. Then if she says yes, you're good to go.

+1 Just play it cool. Say thanks, and offer her dinner. Keep it simple and light. Don't be a dork with flowers. Good luck!

Get a small gift….try to find jeep…try apartment manager…say thank you and print out this thread…if she gets a kick out of it then she has a sense of humor and can appreciate your dilemma…if she doesn’t it may be due to the pink jersey.

Nope, I'm in the +1 to flowers (or other reasonable gesture) section. As long as it's reasonable, it shows you really appreciated what she did (which was quite a bit for someone she just met!). Plus it may make your offer of dinner a little harder to refuse than if you just showed up with nothing and asked her to eat with you. Seems to me it makes you appear more "real," if you will.

Good luck tonight. We're all on the edges of our seats... don't let this go too long!

I've found that a good knock to the squash can really alter my perceptions. Now that the cobwebs have cleared, (assuming they have,) you might show up and she'll be a real bowser. Go at it with that attitude, be a pessimist, and you probably won't be disappointed.

I disagree with the "cool" crowd. Real girls (vs. Paris H. wanabees) do actually exist. The flowers and a card on the seat of her jeep are a good idea. Just don't gush all over the card.

So many people gave you so many suggestions. What matters in the end is that you do something, without wasting too much time. You dont wanna miss the train, do you? I bet a lot of people in here subscribed to this thread and are anxiously waiting for the outcome of second encounter with the girl.
