Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

As far as post-college debt is concerned...80K, maybe a little more. *sigh* and that's before grad school.

MLitt in Geography (gah! my second masters! Why!?)

This summer if all goes well

Ca. 1992 Peugeot with Reynolds 531 steel frame; RX100 brakes, cranks, & FD; Tiagra STI levers; 105 RD, cassette, chain, chainrings, wheels; Ultegra brake pads(!); Time RXE pedals; etc., etc. (really quite the random selection of bits accumulated over time)

Got myself an old but good condition early '90's racer for £50 when a college bike shed was cleared out and the contents auctioned off. I've slowly swapped out parts for new ones as finances have allowed. When I get out this summer and get a proper income I'll find myself a proper new frameset and swap over all the nice new bits, then put all the old bits back on this Peugeot for use as a beater.

And I've done all the work myself, which is good fun. But I blatantly don't have a shiny white garage door for bike photos!

Yeah, our triathlon club goes dry(mostly) after spring break until collegiate triathlon nationals, but that's like one month in the spring, leaving a lot of time to spend money on alcohol.

English/Education/Journalism (or almost but I told the head to **** off)
Technically I graduated in 2006 but I'm still a student due to being a student teacher
Bikes:
CAAD8/Dura Ace
Felt 'cross bike (Ultegra build)
Van Dessel WR TT bike w/Ultegra
Puegot fixie

Record number of my bikes in my dorm room: 7, two road bikes, two cross bikes, a mountain bike, a tt bike and a fixie. That was a bit rough.

Bottom line: It pays to be in the industry, and when that doesn't work, working 3 jobs does.
