My new invention: The straw
A while back, I put two water bottles in the freezer. When I tried to pull out the thing you pull on to let the water out, it broke. So now there's just a hole in the top of the bottle and it doesn't matter if the little thing is up or down, water flows through a 1/4" hole no matter what.
So the other day, I stuck a straw in the hole and went for a ride. Drinking was much easier than with a properly functioning water bottle because now I didn't have to tilt my head back to drink.
So why aren't water bottles designed like this? It makes so much more sense. True, if my bike ever becomes inverted during a ride, water might spill out the top of the bottles. But I'll worry about that when it happens.

Flip your hand over so you pick the bottle out of the cage with your pinky up. You do not need to tilt your head much to get a drink.....

Straw is good, but the guy who invented the twin beer can holder with plastic tubing is way ahead of you

You don't have to change your original method without the straw. Nothing is wrong with it.
Just put the bottle on the bike and go for a ride or put the bottle on the table, the nozzle will thaw very quickly at room temperature, just leave it alone for a few minutes.

I personally hate bottles with straws... they work good, I suppose, but they can be a PITA to clean.

When I was a kid (1960's), bike water bottles came with a cork stopper, which was drilled to take a plastic tube.

Bottles with straws mounted between the aerobars is pretty common in long distance Triathlons, no?
Either way, don't hit a bump.

I've been adding a straw to my water bottles for years. You simply make a hole in the bottle nipple to fit the straw. I usually use one that’s about 1/4" in diameter. Cut one end of the straw at an angle so the bottom of the bottle can't stop it up and the other end of the straw is cut about 1" above the nipple. I use a bottle cage with a handlebar clamp on my touring bike and the bottle I use there has the straw in it. I refill that bottle with my other bottles in the triangle.
