Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Don't bother to buy $100 Oaklies when you can just get safety glasses that are impact resistant and look just as good for about $5.99 each. Or you can really spurge and get the $20 ones.

Attack your best friend at the bottom of a huge hill. And I mean lay the f-ing hammer down hard. Keep hammering until you almost reach the summit then pop like a balloon. Let him coast by you and take the sign for victory.

This way there will be lots of laughs during lunch the next day and you'll never become the arrogant jerk that most cyclists aim for.

How the hell did that happen?

I mean I'm ignant, that is obvious to most BFers by now but damn, I'm not usually... dumb.

Well, tc83, I owe you a beer. I'm not going to give it to you in person though because the anonymity of the internet lets me save some face. Now I'm gonna have to create a new user account, lay low... (but I have to imagine my serial abuse of elipses will give me away anyway.)

Damn it!

4. Offending debris will be in the spot where the hole is in the tube.

I still don't see how the label makes a difference. Is there a better way to do this?
Yes, but only if it has been in there for a long time. They tend to get sticky and I just can't remove the tube without dismantling the whole darn thing. I never remember to put powder in until after I put the tube in. Doh!

But either way, the tire does move at least on my rims. Wired bead tires tend to not move as much. I have also had a hard time finding the debris with out removing the whole tire, turning it inside out and flexing the heck out of it. Sometimes that glass is REALLY small. My last flat BEFORE I started to line up the label, took me a good 20 minutes to find the glass.

Haha, I just swooped in under the radar... fortunately, i haven't been honed in on by most BFers as a sarcastic prankster. Don't take it so hard, it could have been anyone

This is probably the BEST advice, although the snot rocket in the crosswind and the finger in urban areas had me laughing so hard that my wife thinks I'm a total geek.

I had a teammate who nearly kicked straight through a guy's abdomen with his Time cleats. Heated road rage incident. Pointy metal cleats plus free-squatting 450lbs plus adrenaline multiplier = major owwie for stupid driver. Teammate's leg cramped and hurt for days from the extra adrenaline oomph he put into that one.

Dunno what happened to the driver. It looked like his foot disappeared into his stomach though. He landed about 6 feet away. Freaky.

Oh to be young and ******** again.

I guess old and ******** isn't going too badly

Keep a bar of soap wrapped in a paper towel in each shoe when you are not wearing them. Then they always smell fresh.

Place business cards inside your handlebars/seattubes. Just in case your bike gets stolen, you can prove that its yours (assuming it is ever found).

You're thinking about "Easy Rider".

Deliverence is more of a, "Playing a banjo, while going the wrong way down a one way street", sort of movie.
