Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I hit 6000 miles

I looked at the odometer on my cateye computer today and it hit 6k miles. I bought it on 11/10/05. So technically I put miles on it in one year and a month. Although realistically I didn't ride last December or this October so I would like to think it was in 11 month of riding.
Now make it clear it's how many miles I have on this particular computer since I bought it last year. I had a couple of computers before it.

Damn, 6,000 - must be nice to live somewhere where you ride almost the whole year! I'm a little over half at 3,400 I think - I have two computers on two different bikes and one bike with no computer at all. Congrats! You should do a cycling trip for next year

I'm at 5500 miles or so, with taking off almost all of August due to a broken wrist and bike-hatred. Barring huge amounts of snow, I'll probably be over 6K by 12/31/06.

Next year, it's 9000.

Me too, one more ride this weekend and will pass the 6,000 mile mark, but that would be from Jan. 1st '06.

Nice! I just checked my log at activebody.org -- I didn't notice that I'm almost up on 10^4km so I'm not over 6000 miles too. Wo0t!

Good job. I'm going to fall short of that this year, probably in 5500-5700 range. Not bad considering I only road about 200mi from mid June to the end of Sept.
